AnonTalk DDoSed - December 2008

DATE:
2008-12

AFFECTED COUNTRIES:
Sweden

AFFECTED SITES:
anontalk.com, kimmoa.se

EFFECT OF ATTACKS:
Site down for ~1 week

SOURCE COUNTRY:
n/a

ALLEGED ATTACKERS:
Anonymous (group of _chan (many), Ebaumsworld, Something Awful, Encyclopedia Dramatica, Partyvan, etc. users)

TYPE OF ATTACK:
DDoS

ATTACK SPECIFICS:
n/a

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
The initial reason for the attack was because the AnonTalk admin didn't remove links to child pornography. It seems the more likely cause would be accusations that the same admin repeatedly spammed several of the _chan forums. Beyond the DDoS, the admin's name, picture, age, address, emails, social security number, phone number, employment status, banking information, etc. was posted for all to see (whether they are accurate or not is questionable).
