Malware was spread via email attachment to form the botnet.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Site's organizers were responsible for a petition asking the government not to mine for bauxite in the Central Highlands due to environmental and security risks. Authorities crashed the site via many attacks between December 2009 and January 2010. Site first censored in 2009; moving around since then.

"Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Nguyen Phuong Nga declared that Vietnam would take 'appropriate action' against Web sites that it believe threaten national security." (1)
