Panama's Online English-Language Newspaper.
"On Monday a hacker coming through a server in China put a bot into The Panama News and ran up a huge amount of bandwidth. So, profiteering off of this criminal act, the webserver Datarealm send me a bill for $1,600 for the extra bandwidth and now has closed down The Panama News website for nonpayment." (2)
"There is a pattern. I ask readers for funds in March and September, and in or just before those months, without fail for the past four years, I have had various electronic attacks. " (2)
The site owner and ISP eventually came to an agreement to pay a fraction of the original $1600.
