Viet Tan DoSed/hacked - April 2009

Possiby the xFlash attack method. Hit with tens of millions of requests over 5 days.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Site for the Reform Party of Vietnam has been regularly attacked on a smaller scale, then hit with a much larger one. Also subjected to several hack attempts. Site is firewalled in Vietnam. "Occasionally, internet users in Vietnam have reported that the firewall had been lifted and they could access the Viet Tan website. This opening of the gates usually coincides with a denial of service attack from Vietnam—one sure sign that the hacking attacks are sponsored by Vietnamese government authorities" (1).

Site members are frequently sent malware via email. Correspondence that was leaked due to these hacks were subsequently published at x-cafevn-db.info.
