EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Falkland Islands newspaper hacked. Still recovering months later. Argentinian hackers defaced the site with their coutnry's flag "after the Argentine government expressed outrage at a British oil exploration in the South Atlantic." (3) This is aprt of a long dispute between Argentina and the United Kingdom over whose territory the Falklands are. From around the same time: "In February 2010, the Argentine government announced that ships traversing Argentine territorial waters en route to the Falklands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands would require a permit, as part of a dispute over British oil exploration near the Falklands." (2)
