EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Popular Burmese Web site founded to provide 'real information' about the Burmese military, edited by a Burmese army deserter, was attacked twice in a span of two weeks. This is the first attack, which occurred the same day that the SPDC held a press conference in Naypyidaw accusing Maj Aung Lynn Htut (former senior intelligence officer) of stealing when he defected to the USA. The SPDC, the alleged attacker, is Burma's ruling junta. "'We know the SPDC attacked our Web site. They are afraid of us because we get the secret information from our close contacts inside the [Burmese armed forces].'" (1) Server was in USA.
